Artemis K. Tsitsika is elected Associate Professor of Pediatrics-Adolescent Medicine/Health at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (N.K.U.A.). She graduated from the Athens University N.K.U.A. Medical School and specialized in Pediatrics at the First Dpt of Pediatrics – “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital. She was trained in the Adolescent Medicine/Health sub-specialty topics in Greece, Europe and the U.S.A.

She is the founder and head of the Adolescent Health Unit (A.H.U.), Second Dpt of Pediatrics, “P. & A. Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital and scientific supervisor of the “youth friendly”-  W.H.O. guidelines N.K.U.A. programs. She is also the supervisor of the “train the trainer” programs of the Ministry of Health for post covid-19 health concequences in minors. She is the Chair of the MSc “Strategies for Developmental and Adolescent Health” of the Medical School/Athens University N.K.U.A. www.youth-msc.gr , the President of the Ministry of Health Committee regarding the correction of certified gender in minors, and also the President of the YFS (Youth Friendly Services) Alliance Committee.

She has been honored with numerous awards and the distinct award for the development of Adolescent Medicine/Health in Greece.

She has been a Visiting Professor in Western Michigan University and Adjunct Professor of the University of Kentucky in the U.S.A. covering her field of expertise. She has been head of the organization of numerous Panhellenic and International conferences, events and workshops, as well as community based interventions (school health programs, parent academies etc).

She has been an invited speaker to numerous International and Hellenic Conferences. Her research focuses on the quality of life and health of minors, including Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology topics, sexuality, internet use, school health and sexual abuse prevention.

She has been actively involved in MoUs with the Ministries of Education and Health and is the author of books in Greece and internationally, as well as of books for children. She is a reviewer in journals worldwide and has published numerous articles, including those focusing on the post covid-19 concequences in minors, with significant international impact (Children’s Journal Best Paper Award 2021).

She has been supervising the European and other programs of the NGO “For Adolescent Health”  www.youth-life.gr , she is the President of the Hellenic/Greek Society for Adolescent Medicine/Health www.youth-med.gr and Chief Editor of the “Journal of Developmental and Adolescent Health- JDAH”.
